This comes barely a week after unknown persons attacked a parallel secretariat of the Rivers state the APC loyal to Senator Magnus Ngei Abe who represents Rivers south east senatorial district.

The faction has announced its official opening to the public saying it would hold on Friday, August 17, at 9am.

Odike was the deputy chairman to Davis Ikanya, the immediate past chairman of the party before the disputed state congress that threw up, Chief Ojukaiye Flag Amachree as its new head. Amachree's emergence as chairman was reportedly endorsed by the leader of the party in the state, Chibuike Amaechi, a former governor and current transportation minister. The invitation to the official opening stated: "Let me use this medium to officially invite you to attend the historic opening of the Rivers APC secretariat in the Garden City of Port Harcourt.
