Ebonyi guber 2019: Forget my opponents; they are noisemakers, masquerades – Umahi

Ebonyi State Governor,
David Umahi, at the weekend described other governorship aspirants in the
forthcoming general elections as noisemakers, masquerades and Lilliputians.
He said most of them don’t have anything to offer the people of the state.
Umahi made this known in Abakaliki while addressing stakeholders
and health workers during the handover of tricycle ambulances to the 171 wards
of the state.
He expressed confidence that his administration would rule for eight years, but
called on the stakeholders to keep praying for the state ahead of the next
year’s elections.
The governor lamented that his opponents were angry with the level
of development his administration had brought to the people of the state and,
however, urged people to forget about his opponents.
He said, “We are not yet satisfied and we want Ebonyians to know
the best is yet to come, we will also give more attention to health, education,
water in 2019.
“Forget about noisemakers and masqueraders (oppositions). We are on course and our
journey is for eight years. When you see certain noise being made, it is not
ordinary.
“But all this Lilliputians who say that they are contesting for
governorship, what did they think they can offer? They have nothing to offer
the people of the state, just forget about them.
“The devil is angry with the way we are developing the state and
he is using his agents (opponents) to make noise, but our hands and minds are
unto the Lord. And we shall deliver. I want to ask you to put the state in
prayers. The lord who started it will accomplish it. And no power can stop it.
“Some other states have election fever but we are comfortable in
Ebonyi. We are not into election but we are into work, we are working. In our
second tenure, we are going to have a functional teaching hospital,” he
assured.
